Our Story

We opened the doors in 2011 with a beer list longer than most people expected from a neighborhood spot on Seneca Street, and a kitchen that refused to coast on bar food. The bet was that West Seneca wanted somewhere that took both seriously.

It worked. What started as a local secret turned into the place people drive in from Buffalo for — for the tap list, for the Friday fish fry, for the wings, and for a room that's just as easy for a Tuesday beer after work as it is for a table of twelve on a Saturday night.

Not much about the plan has changed. The taps still rotate constantly. The kitchen still makes what it can from scratch. The fireplace still goes on when Buffalo does what Buffalo does in January, and the patio still fills the second it's warm enough to sit outside.

The Bar

The tap list is the reason a lot of people find us. It rotates constantly, leans heavily on Western New York breweries, and pulls in whatever's worth pouring from the rest of the country. Add an extensive bottle and can list on top of that and there's genuinely something here whether you drink IPAs, sours, stouts, or a cold domestic lager without apology. We also offer a wide range of liquor, seltzers, ciders, and craft cocktails. There's truly something for everyone.

Ask the bartenders. They actually know the list, and they'd rather point you at something you'll like than sell you what's convenient.

The Kitchen

Wings that hold their own in a city with strong opinions about wings. Ten-ounce chuck burgers. A beer-battered fish fry that's the most ordered thing we make. Beef on weck, gourmet pizzas, big salads, and the Ale House Angels — bacon-wrapped shrimp that people order before they've looked at the rest of the menu.

We offer plenty of gluten-free options and a kids menu to make sure everyone leaves full.
